Butcher
Traditional wet fly

Butcher

Trout · Sea troutSubsurface

Red tail, blue wing, ribbed body — one of the oldest and most dependable wet flies in the box. Not to be confused with the Bloody Butcher, which runs a red body and a different character entirely. The Butcher has been catching trout and sea trout since the mid-nineteenth century without any particular drama about it.
