Fish this when
When nothing else is signalling. Current seams, deeper channels, rocky marks, estuaries, boat fishing — the workhorse for searching new water.
Why it works
Casts well, sinks well, fishes through rougher water, and triggers takes on the drop. The jigging motion keeps it in the taking zone longer than straight-line flies.
