Denmark's second salmon river, running through the flat south-west Jutland landscape to the Wadden Sea at Ho Bugt. A major west-coast migratory system with organised access, association management, and mandatory reporting infrastructure. Less dramatic than the Skjern but with a strong salmon run from June and good sea trout throughout. The restored stretches fish well — habitat work has created holding lies in water that was once featureless drainage canal. Day tickets from the two main associations make this one of the more accessible Danish salmon rivers. A sand-and-clay bed shapes this river. Atlantic salmon are managed under strict national quotas (DTU Aqua) — each river runs a limited annual kill quota and switches to catch-and-release once it is filled; check the quota before fishing.
