About this water

One of Montenegro's great fly waters flows through one of Europe's deepest canyons (up to 1,300m) with extraordinary clarity. UNESCO World Heritage site within Durmitor National Park. Large, powerful river with excellent fly-fishing reaches: runs, pools and glides in spectacular canyon scenery. Grayling, Danube salmon (huchen) and brown trout. Limestone karst geology supports good invertebrate life. Technical nymphing and dry-fly fishing require careful reading of light and wind. June–October season. Daily zone permits; catch-and-release with barbless requirements.
