About this water

A reservoir on the edge of Lin'an with something no other Chinese venue in this pack has: an angling area the government built rather than merely permitted. Lin'an's agriculture bureau designated two zones on it in 2024 under Hangzhou's fisheries regulations — Qianwang Suoxiu, 1.6km from the pylon to Sankoujing, and Bangqiao, 3.4km in two arms — open 06:00 to 18:30 daily. That is the clearest legal footing of any water we hold in China. Carp, culter and 马口 are all in it, and the drowned metasequoia forest along the shore is worth the trip on its own. / 青山湖是临安城边的一处水库，拥有本册中其他中国水域所没有的东西：一片由政府划设、而非仅仅默许的垂钓区。2024年临安区农业农村局依《杭州市渔业资源保护管理规定》划定两处垂钓区——钱王索秀垂钓区，自高压铁塔至三口井，长1.6公里；板桥垂钓区，分东西两线共3.4公里——每日6:00至18:30开放。这是本册所收中国水域中法律依据最清楚的一处。湖中有鲤鱼、翘嘴与马口，岸边没入水中的水杉林本身即值得一行。
