The legendary Moisie — often cited as the greatest Atlantic salmon river in the world. Enormous boreal river draining the Côte-Nord interior with 18-hour spate response reflecting its vast catchment. Very large multi-sea-winter salmon (8–15 kg average, fish over 20 kg recorded). Remote, accessed primarily by helicopter lodge. Granite geology creates dark tannic water unlike Gaspé clarity. Bomber and large wet flies (Blue Charm, Silver Doctor, Cosseboom) dominate. Season short: late June to mid-August. Access extremely limited and expensive. Atlantic salmon are managed under Québec's rivière system — mandatory catch-and-release of large salmon applies on most rivers, with limited grilse retention; check the river's current quota and rules before fishing.
