About this water

A small wild brown-trout lough of about fourteen hectares in Leitrim, north of Lough Gill between Sligo and Dromahair. It is the sort of place that rewards modest expectations richly — an exceptional head of quality trout, fish to fourteen inches, in a quiet corner most people drive past. Fly-only and bank-only, with a bag limit of four. The permit comes from the Blue Devon in Dromahair.
