Lester River

Minnesota — Lake Superior / Duluth North Shore, USfreestonebedrock

The Lester is the Duluth-area North Shore steelhead stream the pack was missing. It is short, bedrocky, urban-adjacent and highly timing dependent — a spring fishery where snowmelt, rain and clear/low water decide everything. Add it because Minnesota DNR creel work shows lower-shore streams near Duluth carry the heaviest pressure, and the Lester is the obvious local name.

Tactical notes

Watch MNDNR North Shore stream updates. It can go from too high to too low quickly.
