The upper Green above Warren Bridge is high, open, sagebrush-flat freestone water with the Wind River Range standing off to the east, and it's a long way from the famous tailwater Green down in Utah. Browns, rainbows, and mountain whitefish hold in the riffles and runs, and there's good BLM wade access through the Warren Bridge stretch where it's flies-and-lures-only. It runs high and off-color in June snowmelt, then settles into wadeable summer flows. Big, quiet country and willing fish — the kind of place you fish slow because there's no reason to hurry.
