Acid ground means the hatches are thinner than a limestone water would give you, so the fish lean harder on buzzers, the odd damsel, and whatever blows onto the surface. It's honest fishing — no airs, no graces, just a hill loch character that wants a bit of weather to come alive. A cool day with cloud and a working ripple is the day to be there. Bright and flat, and you'll be admiring the scenery, which is no bad consolation.
