This is in the pack for one honest reason: it is the fishing a Zaragoza angler can reach on foot. The Ebro through the city is a big, powerful, regulated lowland river — turbid more often than not, warmwater and coarse in character, with nothing of the trout about it. Framed correctly it is genuine sport: carp cruising the shallow margins and backwaters on a clear, stable day, barbel in the faster runs, predators in the linked backwaters and embalses. Framed as trout water it would be a lie. Bring 6–8 wt tackle, watch the banks for safety on high flows, and treat it as a sight-fishing game when the water clears.
