Labrador's premier Atlantic salmon river — remote, stunning, and home to genuinely large multi-sea-winter fish. Accessed by lodge/float plane. Granite boreal river with dark tannic water. Blue Charm is the leading wet fly; Silver Tip and moose-hair patterns are Labrador traditions. Bomber for surface. Short season (late June to mid-August) driven by ice-out timing. Brook trout and Arctic char are secondary species. One of North America's great wilderness salmon experiences. Atlantic salmon are managed under DFO conservation rules — mandatory catch-and-release of large (multi-sea-winter) salmon applies in most areas, with any grilse retention strictly limited by zone; check current regulations before fishing.
