The Croton watershed is the trout answer for New York anglers who cannot or do not want to burn a whole day driving to the Catskills. It is not one neat river: it is a cluster of small tailwaters, reservoir tributaries and public-access fragments across Westchester and Putnam, with browns, rainbows and brook-trout context depending on reach. The value for Rise Daisy is routing and honesty — which branch, which public access, which special regulation, and whether release/temperature/access make it worth the drive.
