The Agivey is a small, prolific salmon and trout tributary of the Lower Bann, managed by The Honourable Irish Society. Fast-draining basalt catchment — rises and drops quickly after rain. Salmon from May with grilse from June. Fly only on much of the water. Brown trout are plentiful. An intimate river that fishes well for a single angler. Day permits available. Volcanic bedrock underlies this river. Atlantic salmon are managed under DAERA and Loughs Agency conservation byelaws, with mandatory catch-and-release on many waters; check current rules before fishing.
