About this water

Bavarian section of the Lech flowing from Austrian Alps through the Allgäu, grayling and brown trout in limestone water. Some sections heavily dam-regulated; the natural stretches between impoundments hold the best fish. Part of the classic alpine trout-grayling zone.

The Bavarian Lech is heavily dam-regulated; grayling holds best in the natural stretches between impoundments. Access and stricter limits are set per fishery/Hegering — always check the specific permit (Fischereischein + Fischereiberechtigung).
