Winter pike, high water, reservoir drop-offs. Sink the fly to the bottom, then strip it slowly back — pause on the drop is often where the take happens.
Why it works
Weighted head drives the fly down fast and creates a jigging action on the strip. Slow presentation matches cold-water pike metabolism.
