A Slaney tributary in south Wexford that joins the parent river two miles south of Enniscorthy. Best known as a sea-trout river: a genuine run of fish from late June, with the prime window from mid-July to mid-August. Brown trout are present too — small wild fish through the upper and middle reaches — but the sea trout are the reason to fish it. Access from Kilcarbry down to Wilton (around ten miles) is the main fishable stretch. Less celebrated than the Slaney or the Barrow, and quieter for it. The fishing is night work in high summer for sea trout, with daytime dry fly for the brown trout giving way to wet fly at dusk.
