Around 26 kilometres of productive water over a medium-sized rocky bed, famed for producing large multi-sea-winter salmon. This is a later-running river by Icelandic standards — the peak comes in August rather than July — which gives it a distinct character among Iceland's top salmon venues. Average annual catch around 1,200 fish.
